Getting into paid employment is the impossible bit, then when it happens, there comes the honeymoon, which could last days or months, but when it turns into years you know you have struck lucky; thereafter the bit in the middle when being pragmatic is the real skill, nevermind the skills they employed you for, after that its just a question of time before you say sod this for a game of soldiers and march out, quietly or loudly. I am 'early' retired !
